Our History & New Leadership at 32 High Street
32 High Street, Southwold - was previously known as, ‘Marks’ Fish & Chip Shop, owned by Alan & Jane Palmer for 24 years. Martyn & Lucy Hicks purchased the property on the 31st May 2025, and set up the new business trading as Southwold Fish and Chip Shop. Lucy has worked in the construction industry for the past 20years, prior was in Banking & High Street Retail Management. Martyn Hicks, worked for UK based manufacturing global high end boat building company for the previous 30years.
Renovation, Transformation & Award-Winning Success
Martyn & Lucy have refurbished several private properties of their own and were excited by the opportunity to purchase their own local business and renovate 32 High Street. The transformation has been received very well with Locals & Holiday Makers, enjoying the fresh new environment and quality fish and chips cooked in the New Kiremko Range. In our first year of trading, Southwold Fish & Chip Shop achieved the most votes from the EADT readers as their ‘Favourite Fish & Chip Shop’.
